Well, I am impressed

The concept of the new Emmanuelle did not impress me at all and I was discouraged by the piles of negative reviews. I think that too few people understood this film: although some may try to connect it to the original, it is much less exotic and frivolous.

But it is also a film with exceptional erotic tension

If, on the other hand, others find the depiction of explicit sexuality silly, they do not understand what eroticism is all about. In fact, the film is not only an almost complete rewrite of the original work (at least on the surface, because for those who know the original material, there is a lot of inspiration).

This tension is maintained by clinical and, some say, cold direction, with a lot of unsaid things

But this coldness is necessary to understand what really strikes us in the heart: a portrait of a woman full of uniqueness, searching for her individuality through her independence, which is not far from loneliness. Here, ordinary viewers will feel disoriented: how can you make a “libertine” film (as a shared sexuality) about an individual (as opposed to a group)?
